Over the past four decades, Bollywood star Anil Kapoor has charmed the audiences with his talented performances and films. The actor has played some iconic roles throughout his history in Bollywood and continues to charm us even now. As Anil Kapoor is gearing up for  Anees Bazmee's slapstick comedy  ‘Pagalpanti’, the actor recently spoke briefly about his career choices and films he did throughout his Bollywood journey as an actor. Kapoor shared how he almost turned down the film 1942: A Love Story as he was a father of three and didn’t consider him romantic.

The 1994 film 1942: A Love Story is without any doubt considered as one of the finest films in Anil Kapoor’s career. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the epic romantic saga is unforgettable and will always be cherished by the audiences. Recently in an interview with IANS, Anil Kapoor shared details about the film and how he almost turned down the film. Speaking of the film 1942: A Love Story, Anil Kapoor shared that the film was the only love story he did and mentioned how he was very uncomfortable filming it. The actor shared that initially he refused to do the film and turned it down. Recalling the past, he added that he told the makers clearly that he wouldn’t be able to do such a role. Anil Kapoor went on to share how he even suggested stars, Aamir Khan and Bobby Deol for the role and asked the makers from which angle does he look romantic. As Kapoor was already a father of three kids during the making process of the film, he revealed that he finally got convinced and agreed to do the film.


Talking about the film, the ‘Pagalpanti’ actor shared how good he feels to do it. Revealing details on how he prepped for the role, Kapoor also shared that he worked really hard for the film, lost weight, cut his hair, trimmed his mustache and worked on his costume to create the character required in the film. As the film was Anil Kapoor’s most romantic films ever made, the film included many beautiful songs composed by R D Burman like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Lagaa, Kuch Na Kaho and Rim Jhim, which are still a treat to the ear. Speaking of his role in the film, Anil Kapoor shared how he cannot imagine anybody else doing that role.


Helmed and Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the 1994 film is an Indian Hindi patriotic film. 1942: A Love Story starred Anil Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa and Pran in pivotal roles. The movie was the first Indian film to use Dolby Stereo.
